College Football Playoff 2024 Projections: SEC and Big Ten Dominate My 12-Team Bracket
Hello and welcome to my weekly College Football Playoff bracket. I will be updating each week based on new results. They are based solely on my own opinions and will likely differ from Austin Mock’s much smarter, science-based forecasts. Also be sure to check out David Ubben’s Bubble Watch every Monday.
My five conference champions — Ohio State (Big Ten), Georgia (SEC), Miami (ACC), Utah (Big 12) and UNLV (G5) — remain the same as last week. The seeding is more fluid, however, including Tennessee moving up two spots to No. 6 after beating Oklahoma.

What We Learned About the CFP in Week 4: Clemson and Utah Rise as USC Tumbles
First, this is the first time I’ve given all of my at-large seedings to SEC (four) and Big Ten (three) teams. USC, despite a close loss at Michigan, got in, and Kansas State, after getting trounced by BYU, fell out. The Trojans’ potential for non-conference wins against both LSU and Notre Dame gives them a great chance to get in, even if they miss the Big Ten title game.
In reviewing the potential resumes of Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and Ole Miss, it’s clear that the committee could have a tough time deciding on the order if they’re all around 10-2. They could all finish with multiple Top 25 — and maybe even Top 10 — wins.
UNLV remains my Group of 5 team for now, but Boise State will likely tempt me into trading them when the Broncos play Washington State next week.
