Comedians Hamish Blake and Andy Lee have been banned for LIFE from the Olympic Village after a serious security breach
They are a popular Australian comedy duo who are not afraid to push boundaries in their pursuit of humour.
But it seems Hamish Blake and Andy Lee went a little too far during the 2012 London Olympics.
Appears on Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Liesel, Liam and Dobbo On Tuesday, Andy admitted that he and his comedy partner in crime have been given a lifetime ban from the Olympic Village.
Andy revealed that the duo would be speaking to Australian Olympians before the start of the 2012 London Olympics.
After submitting an incorrectly completed security form, which listed Lee’s date of birth as “the date of that day,” the couple were denied entry to the village on the day of their speech.
However, Lee said an anonymous Australian came to the duo’s aid and offered the prankster a pass.
“All of a sudden I went in with someone else’s pass and we snuck in. That was clearly a huge breach of security, and they wanted to show that security was tight,” he admitted.
The Olympic security team explained that the two had given a speech and had a great time with the Australian athletes. However, 90 minutes later, the team realised that there had been a hoax.

“They dragged us away and put us in separate rooms and there was a lot of interrogation. We were just… quiet, and then the head of security came in,” Andy said.
After being questioned by an understanding Australian security chief, Andy said the pair “must agree to a lifetime ban” from the Olympic Village.
He added that it was not the pair’s proudest moment that they carried out their actions when the Australian Olympic team was punished with the withdrawal of a number of visitor passes.

“All of a sudden I went through someone else’s (pass) and we snuck in, which was clearly a huge security breach at a time when they were trying to prove that security was tight,” Andy admitted.
“That’s why I wasn’t really proud of what happened,” Andy said.
“I’m sorry some people missed it.”
Triple M’s Liam Flanagan suggested starting a campaign to get the ban lifted for Brisbane 2032, to which Andy joked that the two could “give it another go” and try to sneak in again.
