Common skin care ‘failures’ could be leaving your hands dry and wrinkled, beautician warns
An expert discovered that skipping an important step in your beauty routine can accelerate hand aging.
Marla Ibrahim revealed some habits you should adopt every day to keep your skin looking youthful.
Ibrahim is the U.S. National Education Director and skin expert at French cosmetics brand Clarins.
In an interview with The US Sun, she shared tips to combat the signs of aging.
“People often focus only on caring for and protecting their face, while neglecting their hands,” she said.
If you don’t do this, the skin on your hands can become dry, wrinkled and flaky.

SMOOTH SKIN
Ibrahim said it is important to keep your hands well moisturized to keep them looking young.
She advised applying a hand cream or lotion regularly throughout the day, including after washing your hands.
“The moisture prevents your hands from getting dry and cracked,” she said.
Another way to care for your hands is to protect them from sun damage.

Make sure to use SPF every day, even when the sun isn’t shining. This will help prevent age spots and wrinkles on your hands.
“Because the skin on your hands is much thinner than on other parts of your body, it’s important not to forget this step.”
BEAUTY ENHANCERS
Ibrahim said that skin care routines should be combined with a healthy lifestyle for optimal results.
She revealed that there are important nutrients that should be included in a balanced diet.
“Add omega-3 fatty acids, vegetables, and foods high in vitamins C and B to keep your skin healthy and your nails stronger,” she said.
Marla Ibrahim previously spoke to The US Sun about the dangers of homemade skin care products.
She said lemon juice is often recommended as an anti-aging agent and a natural skin brightener.
Eat omega-3 fatty acids, vegetables, and foods rich in vitamins C and B to keep your skin healthy and your nails stronger.
However, undiluted lemon juice can cause chemical burns and increased sensitivity to sunlight.
She also warned against rubbing the face with ice cubes, as this would tighten pores and reduce swelling.
The hack can lead to broken capillaries and increased sensitivity.
Ibrahim said skin care routines should be simple, with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and sunscreen.
