‘Congress against India’: BJP lashes out at Rahul Gandhi, alleges links with ‘anti-national forces’ | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Several BJP leaders on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader and Opposition Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi after his meeting with US Congressman Ilhan Omar. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya accused Gandhi and the Congress Party of aligning themselves with anti-Indian forces.
Malviya took to X and alleged, “India’s opposition leader Rahul Gandhi is meeting Ilhan Omar in the US, a Pakistan-sponsored anti-India voice, a radical Islamist and a proponent of independent Kashmir. Even Pakistani leaders would be more cautious about being seen with such fanatical elements. Congress is now openly working against India”
He further alleged that the banned Khalistan terror group supported Gandhi’s recent remarks on the Sikh community. “Sikhs For Justice, the banned Khalistan terror group, has supported Rahul Gandhi’s misinformed remarks on the Sikh community in the US. After Ilhan Omar, this is yet another example of Congress conniving with anti-India forces. Congress and Rahul Gandhi are indeed anti-India. They are doing everything they can to destroy India’s social fabric,” Malviya tweeted.
Malviya continued his criticism, also targeting Gandhi’s stance on reservations during a meeting at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. “Rahul Gandhi made it clear that he would eventually ‘do away with reservations,'” Malviya said, adding: “This shows that his talk of caste census and empowering the deprived and marginalized is just a facade.”
Other BJP leaders, including Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, joined the chorus of criticism. Sarma said, “Three consecutive Lok Sabha defeats have pushed the Congress party into the hands of Islamists and anti-India forces.” Dhami compared Gandhi’s language to that of pro-Khalistan separatists and remarked, “His rhetoric is no different from that of Pannun (a designated terrorist in India).”
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also condemned the former Congress president’s meeting with Ilhan Omar and tweeted: “After spewing venom against Sikhs and trashing India on foreign soil, Rahul Gandhi now meets anti-India Ilhan Omar and engages in dialogue.”
Criticising LoP, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, “Can anyone in their right mind justify or endorse these deplorable statements? The absolutely shameful manner in which India and every Indian is being vilified on foreign soil by Rahul Gandhi. It is a well-thought-out agenda of the Congress. I think it is a conscious decision that he is making these statements because the Congress in its desire to attack Prime Minister Modi and this third term that the people of India have given to Prime Minister Modi. They are so frustrated that in their frustration they cannot differentiate between a political opponent and the nation.”
Further criticism came from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who accused Gandhi of siding with forces that want to divide the nation. “Collaborating with forces that conspire to divide the country and make anti-national statements has become a habit for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party,” Shah wrote on X.
Another BJP stalwart, Giriraj Singh, went a step further and called for legal action and suggested that Gandhi’s parliamentary membership should be revoked. “When Rahul Gandhi meets people in India, he joins anti-India forces, and abroad he meets people like Ilhan Omar. It is time to bring in a law to take action against such behaviour. His membership should also be revoked,” Singh said, recalling a time when his membership was revoked for similar actions during the tenure of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
