‘Congress and allies speak the language of Pakistan’: PM says Maharashtra fight between devotees of Sambhaji Maharaj and Aurangzeb | India News – Times of India
At a meeting Chhatrapati SambhajinagarThe Prime Minister claimed that the grand old party had passed a resolution in favor of restoration of Article 370, accusing the party of opposing the BJP’s attempts to integrate Kashmir by abolishing the article.
“When we freed Kashmir from Article 370, Congress opposed it in Parliament and the courts,” he said. “Now they are again hatching a plan to restore Article 370 and get a separate constitution in Kashmir,” he stressed that all Indians want Kashmir to be governed solely by Dr.’s constitution. The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of opposing caste-based reservations and trying to divide Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) by ‘splitting them into smaller castes’.
“The Congress always said reservations were against the country. It regarded reservations as contrary to merits. The mentality and agenda of Congress remain unchanged. Therefore, they cannot reconcile the fact that someone from OBC has been the Prime Minister of the country for the last 10 years,” he said.
PM credited the BJP-led Mahayuti government with fulfilling Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray’s long-standing demand to rename Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. He alleged that the Congress had tried to overturn the name change in court, alleging that the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government lacked the “courage” to implement the change under pressure from the Congress.
The Prime Minister concluded by highlighting the BJP’s efforts to get classical language status for Marathi and attract a record number of foreign direct investments to Maharashtra, which he said has boosted the state’s economic progress. “BJP-Mahayuti ahe, tar gati ahe, Maharashtrachi pragati ahe” (“When there is Mahayuti, there is progress in Maharashtra”), he stated, pointing to the coalition’s achievements in governance and cultural pride.
