'Congress should change party symbol from panja to jalebi': BJP's Anil Vij takes swipe at Haryana poll result
MLA from the Bharatiya Janata Party Anil Vij took a swipe at Congress on Friday, suggesting they should change the party symbol to ‘jalebi.”
After Congress lost the Haryana Assembly elections, Anil Vij said, “Rahul Gandhi’s interest was only in Jalebi and not in the elections. Congress should replace its symbol from Panja to Jalebi. We know their reality and that is why we said from day one that the BJP will win.”

Jalebi and Haryana election connection
Jalebi has suddenly become a hot topic during the Haryana elections, mainly used to troll the Congress party. In the initial stages of the counting day, Congress workers celebrated with snacks of Jaleblis as they sensed a whiff of victory after ten years. But as the counting continued, Jalebi’s happiness and loveliness did not last long on the face of Congress.
The BJP created history by winning 48 seats, while the Congress secured 37 seats and independent candidates won three seats.
To ridicule the Congress, the BJP even sent 1 kg of jalebis to the party through Swiggy and kept it as cash on delivery.
“On behalf of all workers of Bhartiya Janta Party Haryana, Jalebi has been sent to Rahul Gandhi’s house,” Haryana BJP wrote on X.

When it all started?
It all started on October 1, when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a campaign rally in Gohana, Sonipat. During his speech, he praised legendary jalebi maker Matu Ram and claimed he had tasted “the best jalebi of my life”.
Showing a box from Matu Ram’s sweet shop, Gandhi suggested that these famous jalebis should be sold nationwide and even exported, suggesting that such efforts could create more employment.
