The Congress will contest all 70 seats in the Delhi polls without an alliance, says party president Devender Yadav
Congress party will contest the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections without any alliance, says state Congress president Devender Yadav announced on Friday. The party will field candidates for all 70 seats. The decision on the Chief Ministerial candidate will be taken after the election by the Congress Legislature Party, Yadav said.
MONKEY Leader and Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal recently compared the upcoming elections to a religious battle. “The Delhi Assembly election is like a ‘dharamyudh’. They have huge money and power, just like the Kauravas, but God and people are behind us, as was the case with the Pandavas,” Kejriwal told the party members.
The BJP is also preparing for the elections. On Thursday, the Delhi BJP announced 43 committees that would manage various election-related tasks, including campaigns and outreach.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 2025. The AAP won the previous elections in 2020, with Arvind Kejriwal becoming Chief Minister for a third term.
