Cooktown, Queensland: Horror: Man presumed dead after crocodile attack in front of his children
A man was dragged underwater by a crocodile after he slipped off a river bank while fishing. The attack took place in front of his family.
The man in his 40s was fishing at Crocodile Bend, near Cooktown, when he slipped and was grabbed by the crocodile at around 2pm, the report said. The courier post.
Queensland Police are currently conducting a search in the area around the Annan River Bridge.
The location is a popular fishing spot, but is also known as a habitat for crocodiles.
A 5-metre crocodile is still reportedly visible at the site, with police and local rangers still searching for the man.
