Crystal Palace Co-owner John Textor tries to sell his interest in the club to prevent the Eagles from the Europa League to be started suggesting reports.

Despite winning the FA Cup, the South London Club Face cannot compete for the first time in the Europa League due to the UEFA Multi-Club ownership rules.

The American businessman Textor has a 43 percent share in the Selhurst Park outfit.

His ownership of Ligue 1 -side Lyon, however, has placed Palace’s place in the competition on the line without even kicking a ball.

That is because the French outfit has also qualified for next season’s Europa League, but because of their superior competition position is preferable for a place.

Earlier this week, Paleishoofden flew to Switzerland for a meeting about the coasts of Lake Geneva for Crunch conversations with UEFA about the problem.

According to the Daily Mail, those conversations lasted about two hours and ended in Textor and the club set up for the picking up to prevent a potential disaster.

He has previously stated his intention to sell when he tries to buy Everton, in addition to the fact that he only has access to 25 percent of the voting rights at the club.

Speaking with the post about the meeting, he said: “Look, all the UK knows that I have no decisive influence on Palace. It was a good meeting.

“They listened and we will see what is happening. I would not try to sell (his interest) if I did.”

The 59-year-old added: “We try to help separate and sell it. We wanted to buy, but it has become clear that it is not going to happen and so we try to help Palace and the situation with UEFA.

“That is about everything I can say.”

The report adds that UEFA lawyers will now consider the argument before they make a decision in the “near future” prior to the draw for the qualifying phases of the Conference League.

Palace that is started from the Europa League is not the worst scenario because of the unprecedented nature of a third club involved.

The Eagles can even be started from the Conference League if they were forced to suffer a “relegation” to prevent two competing interests, because of the ownership of shareholder David Blitzer.

Blitzer would have about 18 percent of the shares in the club, but also has Danish outfit Brondby.

They seem to stand in line to take a place in the Conference League that would once again bring Palace into conflict with ownership rules.

Brondby finished third in the competition of Denmark, but Palace would claim that the qualification for a competition with a higher rank by winning the FA Cup gives them straight.

That said, if Palace is eventually thrown out of European football, Bitter Rivals Brighton would inherit a place in the Conference League, while Nottingham Forest goes to the Europa League.

Man Utd was confronted with a similar problem last year when they won the FA Cup and were placed under the French club under the priority list because of their higher finish in Ligue 1.

Both were finally allowed to compete, the Ineos of Sir Jim Ratcliffe agreed with a transfer embargo between the two clubs and major changes on board level for Nice in a so-called “blind-trest” deal.

Manchester City had to do the same when the Spanish side Girona, owned by the Stadsvoetbalgroep of the VAE, was surprisingly qualified for the Champions League last season.

As a precaution, forest owner Evangelos Marinakis made similar changes when it seemed on both the English side and the Greek outfit Olympiakos to qualify for the Champions League.
