Damon Heta has given a brutal assessment of the Premier League and admitted that he is not even looking at it.
The Aussie believes that the current format has become far too repetitive and has lost its excitement.
World No1 Luke Humphries and World Champion Luke Littler have confronted seven times with this year’s campaign.
But Heta Is not even tuned this season and says he prefers to spend his on the practice board on Thursday evening.
He told Sporting Life: “No, I am not looking at it. I didn’t watch it this year.
“I clearly see the results that they always come on social media.
“But I didn’t watch it. I may have watched a few games last year.
“I think it’s too much. They are the same people in the match -ups and then I see them every week darts.
“I can practice on the dartboard when they play the thing.
“I mean, you get those prestigious games, but all the time, so you flood the good arrows.

‘De Luke [Littler] US Luke [Humphries] You will see them play twenty times a year.
‘I’m not even sure how often we have seen a Phil [Taylor] US MVG [Michael van Gerwen] game.
“It just makes it more prestigious.”
Aussion worker Heta called for the return of relegation – a system deleted after the 2021 season – to increase the deployment for wrestling players.
He revealed: “I used to like the relegation. I thought it was pretty good.
“Because the first half of the season they play to stay in it.
“And then people are probably against the back – if you have a long season – if they are doing badly, you know that they will probably not show up or put 100 percent in it.
‘B League’
“It’s like, what do they play for when they don’t get the top four?
“I mean £ 10,000 – but is that enough for them?”
World Cup winner Heta even drove the idea of a potential “B League” – giving more players a chance to prove themselves and earn promotion to the head Premier League phase.
He added: “Yes, I think that would be good. Whether the B competition is playing behind closed doors to come to that phase.
“It gives that person – who wins the second competition – that opportunity to prove himself.
“I did it for 17 weeks and now I have won it, then you get the promotion in the Premier League.”
