Kim Huybrechts had a “Barney attack” on stage before his trophy hit “a thousand pieces”.
The 39-year-old is one of the top darts stars around.
Yet he has not added to the two European tour titles that came earlier in his career.
Huybrechts First Triumph came to the Dutch Darts Masters in 2013.
And he followed that two years later with success at the European Darts Grand Prix.
However, Huybrechts was unable to get a third trophy at the International Darts Open in 2016.
He eventually lost 6-5 to Mensur Suljovic in Germany and missed nine competition chips.
He is now open at the brutal event, which made the light of fellow darts star Raymond van Barneveld, while also revealing his second trophy, did not make the cut.
Huybrechts told the Darts Podcast: “Then I had a ‘Barney Attack’ on stage.
“Of course we got a trophy. And of course I got second place.

“You first have to take the photos-I didn’t smile in that. I even gave a few sarcastic thumbs to the crowd when they announced me as second place.
“No middle fingers, although I really wanted that.
“After the final I went backstage and, of course, it was a beautiful glass trophy.
“Well, it didn’t survive the journey. It ended up in a thousand pieces with the camera crew.
“During the next tournament, someone showed up with a cardboard box and said,” You forgot something in Riesa. ”
“I opened it and inside were all the shards of the trophy.”
