‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: Is There a Post-Credits Scene?

I can’t wait to see Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine? Fourth-wall-breaking jokes, ugly-yet-cute dogs and cameos are all part of this R-rated crowd-pleaser, in theaters now.

In Ryan Reynolds’ blood-soaked buddy action film, the foul-mouthed mercenary learns his world is in danger, and the path forward involves Hugh Jackman’s surly X-Man. In addition to offering nonstop action and humor, the film emphasizes the internal struggles of its beloved protagonists.

In his review of Deadpool & Wolverine, CNET’s Aaron Pruner writes that it “checks all the boxes a fan could want in a Marvel movie. It’s the best installment in the franchise, the best Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame, and it charts a bold new path for the MCU.” If you’re planning on attending a screening, here are the answers to all your burning post-credits questions.

Does Deadpool & Wolverine Have a Post-Credits Scene?

Yes, the Marvel movie has a scene after the credits. Remain seated until the credits roll to watch the clip, which lasts about a minute.

If you’re here to know what happens in the scene, the rest of this article will provide a spoiler-filled explanation. Do not proceed unless you want to know what happens in the scene after the credits.

spoiler alert spoiler alert

Although Deadpool kills plenty of people throughout the 2 hour and 7 minute film, there is one death that the Merc with a Mouth doesn’t take credit for.

When Wolverine and Deadpool get trapped in the wastelands of The Void, they encounter Johnny Storm/the Human Torch. Deadpool thinks the Chris Evans in front of him is Captain America, until he yells, “Flame on!” Baddies (including Pyro and Toad) quickly capture them and put them in a convoy to an unknown destination.

Johnny explains that the common fates of those trapped in the Void by the Time Variance Authority are to die at the hands of an entity called Aloith or to be “for her“Her” turns out to be Cassandra Nova, the evil twin sister of Charles Xavier.

When they meet, Deadpool opens his big mouth and fills Cassandra in on the long list of insults Johnny allegedly said about her in the convoy. Johnny denies the accusations, but it’s not enough to stop Cassandra from turning him into a disgusting pile of organs on the ground.

The Human Torch has been lit

It’s easy to believe that Deadpool caused Johnny’s death, but is that the whole story? In the film’s post-credits scene, Deadpool reveals a tape of a previously unseen moment.

A hidden camera-style overhead video shows the convoy carrying a captured Johnny, Wolverine, and Deadpool. Johnny then launches into a flurry of colorful insults aimed at Cassandra.

This is definitely not Captain America.

Those looking for hints of a future Deadpool and Wolverine team-up or any other MCU project won’t find them here, but Deadpool & Wolverine uses its end-credits scene as an opportunity to elicit one more laugh. Come for Wolverine and Deadpool, stay to see Chris Evans roast a villain in ways Steve Rogers never could.
