Dermatologist Says You Only Need 4 Products for a Travel Skincare Routine
DON’T go over your carry-on liquid allowance by packing your entire 20-step skincare routine.
A dermatologist claims you really only need four products for your trip. And there is one beauty product in particular that you can absolutely skip during your week away.
Dr. Trishna Khanna is a board-certified dermatologist who is happy to give you some sage advice about your summer vacation.
Speaking to The US Sun, she shared tips for keeping your skin healthy on holiday, including some tricks for keeping your packing list organised.
According to Dr. Khanna, many people have a multi-step skin care routine that keeps their complexion clear and fights the signs of aging.
But not every product needs to be packed when you travel.
“If you really want to keep it simple, you only need four products,” says the pro, who also serves on GoPure’s Dermatology Board of Advisors.
“A cleanser to wash away impurities, a retinol for firming, a moisturizer for hydration and an SPF for damage protection,” the spokesperson said.
Most other products can be left at home and used again when you return, including a product that many people like to use.
“A week without a hyaluronic acid serum won’t make or break your routine,” she insisted.

CHANGE IT FOR THE SEASON
“Just make sure you have a good moisturizer to cover the hydration.”
Dr. Khanna revealed that the temperature of the place you visit and the activities you do can affect the products you pack.
“It may be helpful to adjust your skin care if you swim a lot, sunbathe or sweat a lot,” she says.
“These activities tend to strip the skin of what you applied in the morning, so it’s best to reapply halfway through the day.”
She said retinol can be “drying” to the skin, so it may be worth stopping in colder climates and during the winter to avoid irritation.
UV BLOCKING, ALL YEAR ROUND
Don’t skimp on sunscreen, no matter how cold or cloudy it is at your destination.
“I also want to add that sometimes people think SPF is just for summer, but it should be used year-round,” she said.
She recommends GoPure’s Glow Pure SPF, which she describes as “hydrating with a light tint that really makes the skin look radiant.”

Countless Amazon customers have purchased GoPure Glow Pure Tinted Mineral SPF 40 in the past month.
It is specially developed to protect and hydrate the skin without leaving a white residue.
Customers have given it a whopping 4 out of 5 stars.
One person praised how “soft and radiant” the sunscreen made their skin, while another said it felt “light.”
FLAWLESS FREE STUFF
According to Dr. Khanna, topical creams and serums aren’t the only things you should consider when caring for your skin health.
She revealed that exercise is ‘so good’ for a glowing complexion.
“It improves circulation, which helps bring nutrients and oxygen to the skin, making it look healthier and younger,” she said.
“Exercise also helps reduce stress, which can accelerate the aging process.”
She said relaxation techniques such as “meditation, deep breathing exercises or yoga” can also help manage stress.
“And of course, quitting smoking and moderating alcohol consumption can have noticeable benefits for your skin and overall health,” she added.
