Desperate to see Nvidia’s RTX 5090? A graphics card maker representative just accidentally revealed that the flagship next-generation GPU will be unveiled at CES 2025
- A representative of Inno3D Brazil provided information about the next-generation flagship
- On a YouTube livestream, they initially said it would be available in a few weeks
- Then they backtracked and said the unveiling was scheduled for CES 2025
It’s widely expected that Nvidia’s RTX 5090 will be unveiled at CES 2025, and here’s another leak to add to the growing pile of speculation that suggests this may indeed be the case for the next-generation flagship GPU.
VideoCardz noticed that a representative of the Brazilian arm of Inno3D, a graphics card manufacturer, accidentally let this piece of information slip in a YouTube livestream interview with Brazil-based retailer Pichau. (The video has just been removed, we should note that it was live when we started writing this story, but is now marked as unavailable).
The Inno3D rep responded to viewer questions about the next generation of Blackwell GPUs, and mention was made of the RTX 5090, to which the rep said the graphics card would be “available” in just three weeks.
You can imagine the reaction to that from viewers, which led to the rep pushing back and saying that the RTX 5090 “won’t be announced until January at CES 2025.”
Analysis: CES 2025 now seems like a pretty sure bet – as does a price hike
As VideoCardz theorizes, what likely happened here (grab your salt shaker now) is that the rep referred to Inno3D receiving the first RTX 5090 cards in a few weeks – so they’re likely prelaunch samples that will be ‘available’ for the sign maker (not the audience of course).
However, this does indicate that Nvidia is getting everything ready for the big launch early next year, and that, as many previous rumors now claim, the RTX 5090 will be unveiled at CES 2025. (To be fair, there’s been some buzz about a late 2024 launch in recent times, but we think that idea has pretty much been sidelined again).
When the RTX 5090 does emerge, if the rumors are true, it will be very powerful – a big step up from the RTX 4090 – but also very power-hungry. And perhaps most worryingly, also very expensive, possibly even to the point that Nvidia is marketing it as a GPU aimed at professionals, rather than PC gamers, to justify the price. While GeForce is a gaming brand, as we’ve discussed in the past, that doesn’t really make much sense.
Be that as it may, the RTX 5090 will likely see a price increase of some variation, the rumor mill is pretty sure of that – and possibly the RTX 5080, the other Blackwell GPU that’s expected to hit the world at CES 2025. .
If you want an affordable, high-quality card – and affordable is a very relative term at the top of the graphics card spectrum these days – your best bet might be to check out some of the best Black Friday GPU deals currently in play, with some tempting offers (some where is also middle class).
