Whyte, 37, was previously determined that his Pencile would pave the way for a title fight in 7 June, while he also admitted that inactivity had ‘killed’ his career.
He told Ring magazine: “Look, inactivity has actually killed my career in the past three years.

“I am looking for a big fight at the end of July or early August and I just thought I need some activity before I went there.
“I thought I should become active as quickly as possible, because I am serious to make up a final run again and possibly fight for the world title.

“So I want to put myself in the position that when it comes, I am not alone to participate, but I will go there with a big chance to win because I will have some momentum behind me.
“The only way to get that is by putting my pride aside and saying,” You know what, I’ll take this opportunity. ” I’ve always done that in my career.
“I fought Dereck Chisora as a Co-Main event on a huge map and then in my next fight I bake Malcolm Tann in an eight rounder at around 5 p.m.
“So this is about staying in a better position to give the fans big fighting.”
Whyte fought for the last time in December against Ebenezer Tetteh in Gibraltar, with his only other fight since 2022 in March 2024 against Christian Hammer.
Then he was forced to get himself from a Blockbuster heavyweight in March with Joe Joyce.
