Discover the royal family’s favorite drinks: from Britain’s favorite to Kate’s treat
SITTING with a nice cup of tea is a pastime we all love in Britain.
And when we’re not enjoying a comforting brew, we can be found in the pub enjoying a drink with friends – and the royal family is no different.
You may not see them in your local liquor store, but they all have their favorite drink, whether it’s a classic tea or a spicy margarita.
King Charles reportedly has expensive tastes and prefers to drink Darjeeling, also known as the ‘champagne of tea’ – although he has never publicly stated which brand is his favorite.
Meanwhile, Prince William’s tastes are a little more downward Earth when it comes to his brew, he likes an English breakfast tea.
And Kate Middleton reportedly has the same taste in tea as the late Queen Elizabeth and enjoys sipping a cup of Earl Grey, but with a slight twist, according to Luxurious Magazine.

What is this twist, you may ask? Apparently the princess is from Wales adds a dash of honey as a natural sweetener.
She’s also not the only royal to opt for honey in their tea; King Charles would do the same with his beloved Darjeeling.
But it’s not just Earl Gray Kate’s old-school taste, she will also reportedly drink a gin and tonic after putting the kids to bed, made by none other than Prince William.
She was even spotted sipping a tequila-based cocktail at a music festival in Norfolk last year,
The standard reported at the time that Kate “was in good spirits, ordering spicy margaritas, eating affogato and speaking kindly to the other members of her party.”
When she’s not having fun with friends or enjoying a drink after the kids are asleep, Kate also enjoys a drink with William.
The couple are said to love the ‘Crack Baby’ cocktail, which is made with vodka, champagne and passion fruit juice and served at their 2011 wedding. Hello magazine.
That said, Kate is also known for being very focused on her health, so when it comes to drinks, nothing beats a little H2O and the future Queen is often pictured enjoying a cold bottle of water during royal engagements.
According to MailOnline, the mother of three enjoys a green smoothie in the morning.
Her favorite mix consists of a combination of kale, spirulina, matcha, spinach, romaine, coriander leaves and blueberries.
“This smoothie is absolutely packed with antioxidants that fight free radical damage, the environmental toxins that steal our natural glow,” former royal nutritionist Jennifer Hanway previously told Hello magazine.
As for Queen Camilla, she loves a glass of red wine and previously told You magazine that she would like to have “a really good glass of red wine” as part of her last supper.
King Charles is said to prefer a gin martini before dinner, consisting of half gin and half dry vermouth, garnished with a twist of olive or lemon.
