‘Disheartening’: Sadhguru responds to disruptions in Indian Parliament
NEW DELHI: Spiritual leader Sadhguruhas expressed its concerns about the ongoing state of affairs disruptions in the Indian Parliamentcalling the developments “disheartening” and calling for a more constructive approach to governance.
In a post published on social media, the founder of the Isha Foundation underlined the importance of maintaining decorum in the legislature, especially as India strives to become a global beacon of democracy.
“It is disheartening to see disruptions in the Indian Parliament, especially as we strive to be a beacon of democracy to the world,” Sadhguru wrote.
Sadhguru also highlighted the crucial role of Indian business in the country’s growth. “India’s wealth creators and job providers should not become the subject of political rhetoric,” he said. “If there are discrepancies, they can be dealt with within the legal framework, but it should not become a political football.”
Sadhguru emphasized that the prosperity of the Indian economy is intrinsically linked to the success of its businesses, large and small. He warned that the ongoing political stalemate could undermine efforts to support entrepreneurs and industries that drive job creation and innovation.
“The most important thing is that Indian businesses must prosper,” Sadhguru asserted. “It is the only way Bharat will become Bhavya Bharat”
Sadhguru’s comments come in the wake of a recent uproar in Parliament, where multiple sessions have been marred by heated debates, protests and strikes over a variety of issues, including farmer welfare and advertising corruption.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for a day on Wednesday, soon after it reconvened at 12 noon following an earlier adjournment. The morning session had ended without any substantive business being transacted as members of both the Opposition and Finance Ministers exchanged heated remarks over the no-confidence notice issued against Speaker and Vice President of the House of Representatives Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Protests broke out soon after, prompting the chairman to adjourn the session until noon. When the House reconvened at noon, protests continued on several issues, leading to the day’s proceedings being suspended again.
