About how he juggles with the familiarity with his family life, Pete shared: ‘It is definitely a challenge and you learn a lot on the way. It really keeps you really based on that responsibility and that to go home, and I would like to think that is a big reason why I still do what I do.

‘When I started with Djing, I made an early decision that I would only do the pieces that I really wanted to do and loved.

‘I didn’t want to be on the radio seven days a week and I didn’t want to perform seven nights a week. I wanted to choose and choose.

“So I always had a daily job when I started for the first time, because Djing was not seen when everything and everything ended and the money was not the same as I started with what it is today, so that created a more ordinary environment around my children.”

About his children who support him on sets, he explained: ‘When they were young, they came to things like Café Mambo. And when they were too young to go to clubs legally, the question is highest that they wanted to go.

‘When they could go for the first time, they were quite a few. They went further and now have their own life and are not necessarily interested in what I do.

‘Now I have this way:’ Do you want to come? ‘They usually appear before the orchestra, I don’t force them. ‘

Several of Pete’s children have followed in his footsteps, including daughter Becky, who is also a DJ.
