X (formerly Twitter) is removing ads from its highest-paid subscription plan, it announced in a social media post on Thursday. The microblogging platform introduced several new subscription plans following Tesla and Space X CEO Elon Musk’s acquisition in late 2022, ditching the previously available Twitter Blue. The top-tier plan, called X Premium+, offers perks like a reply boost and the ability to write articles, along with all the features offered by the Premium plan.
X Premium+ is ad-free
In a after On the platform, the official X account announced that the Premium+ subscription is now “completely” ad-free. The plan was initially introduced in 2023, removing ads from only the For You and Following pages. It joined the Basic and Premium plans, bringing the total number of subscription options available on the platform to three.
In addition to no ads on the platform, the X Premium+ subscription comes with several perks, including those of the lower-tier Premium plan. Some of the most notable additions include the ability to edit X posts, post longer videos, and have encrypted direct messages (DMs).
The subscription plan also allows users to monetize their content, allowing them to earn money from the revenue generated by organic ad impressions displayed in comments by verified accounts. Additionally, a blue checkmark will be added next to the user’s name. Those who subscribe to the plan will be able to roll out monthly subscriptions to their most loyal followers. It also opens up access to creator tools like X Pro, Analytics, and Media Studio.
With X Premium+, users can take advantage of Grok, the platform’s conversational artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, and post rich text articles (web only).

X Premium subscription price in India starts at Rs. 243.75 per month for the Basic plan. The higher-tier Premium plan costs Rs. 650 per month, while the top-tier Premium+ plan with the most benefits costs Rs. 1,300 per month. Users can also opt for annual subscriptions, which brings the cost down a bit.
