A travel expert has unveiled the only thing he does before kicking back and enjoys a holiday at sea – and it is a simple trick that he says that every passenger should follow, but one that is rarely mentioned in the safety briefings on board.

Travel expert Dr. Steve Burgess runs CME holidays, who train healthcare professionals at conferences that are held at foreign destinations.

Dr. Burgess, a fan of an avid cruise vacation, says that the only rule he swears that he can warn passengers in danger of high seas before alarm systems sound, which means they have essential seconds to escape during an emergency situation.

The Medic explains that placing a bottle of water on the floor of your passenger cabin – close to your bed – is an easy way to tell immediately whether a lining encounters problems, such as entering dangerous waters, smoke or even floods.

He explained: ‘Most passengers have no idea that there is a simple five -second check that they have to perform when they enter their cruise cubes.

“Placing a water bottle on your cabin flower is not a hydration reminder – it can literally save your life.”

How? The doctor says that the bottle reflects how the ship moves and says: ‘The water in your bottle will respond to ship movements that you may not consciously register, especially when you sleep.

“It serves as an early warning system that you can give valuable minutes to respond during an emergency.”

The signs that passengers should be careful is when it is water ‘Unusual lumps’ or ‘babbling’.

Dr. Burgess says it could mean a listing ship or abnormal vibrations, which can mean that there is a mechanical problem with the lining – something that, he adds, to be worth increasing with crew to investigate further.

The water bottle can also be able to indicate whether there is a fire -related emergency situation; If smoke seeps in a cabin, the bottle will probably show condensation – another red flag that passengers must be aware of.

Often smoke can reach a room before smoke detectors detect it, so that the water bottle can be the first obvious sign of danger.

The expert says that although problems with carrying are very rare, the trick of the water bottles is something that he learns caregivers who follow his courses.

He says: “It takes nothing, takes seconds to implement and can offer the early warning that makes the difference in an emergency.

‘What makes this tip so valuable is that it works while you sleep. Most emergency situations at sea take place at night when passengers are the least alert and the most vulnerable.

“Having this passive monitoring system appropriate, gives you peace of mind and possibly crucial extra minutes to respond in the right way.”

He continues: ‘While cruise ships are incredibly safe today and serious incidents are rare, something we emphasize in medicine is prepared – and it applies equally to travel.

“This simple habit has become a second nature for experienced cruisers, but it is almost never mentioned in the safety briefing.”

Dr. Burgess is not the only doctor who advises passengers on cruise ship holidays, with one American medicine who fully advises them in the light of recent federal cuts in the US.

Dr. Rubin, a pediatrician who often shares information about allergies and how to combat it, posted a recent Tiktok clip with details about why he will not be Board a cruiseIn the near future.

“This is why you will not soon see me on a cruise ship, and I encourage people to consider this before they book a cruise,” he insisted in the video.

Dr. Rubin then spoke about the cuts that have recently been made to federal agencies and how that has influenced the general health and safety controls on the ships.

‘Well, one of [the cuts] is to the Sanitation Program of the CDC, which carries out health inspections on cruise ships at least twice a year and they trace outbreaks to reduce the chances that more people get sick, “he explained.

Dr. Rubin kept saying that so far 12 norovirus outbreaks have already been on cruise ships on cruise ships, compared to eight last year.

“These cutbacks make no sense because it is not financed by taxpayer Dollars,” he continued.

“Subsequently, cruise ships pay for these health inspections, so it’s not as if we save money from the perspective of the taxpayers,” the medical professional was on before we declared: “This makes absolutely no sense.”

The response to the video of Dr. Rubin was divided, with some accusing him of ‘anxiety munsing’.

‘We cruise every year and just went in mid -February, which is prime time for Norovirus. We were on the largest ship of Carnival and were fine, “a user replied.

“I’m a travel agent and it’s going well,” another said.

Other users agreed with the assessment of Dr. Rubin.

‘I am anti-cruise, even in normal times. Ships are just one gigantic Petri dish and it’s a hard pass for me, “wrote a user.

“They call norovirus” cruise ship virus “for a reason,” someone else has introduced.

“I caught Covid on the last. Never again, “another swore.
