But like all dogs, they all have their own personalities and need to be properly trained to ensure their own safety and that of others.

Will has over 900,000 followers on TikTok and regularly shares tips on dog training and which breeds best suit your lifestyle.

In one clip, Will reveals what he considers to be the “worst dog breeds for families” and discusses how each breed can be a potential danger to young children.

“My job is to help dogs when something terrible has happened,” he explained. “So what breeds do I see happen most often that you as a family member should stay away from?”

Belgian Malinois

The dog trainer revealed that these large dogs are capable of “crazy feats of obedience and training.”

However, Will thinks the breed is not suitable for families with children.

He explained: “They bite children, they hurt children, they have no off switch and they want to keep going all the time.”

Caucasian Shepherd Dog

I’ll also add the Caucasian Shepherd Dog to the list and add that “any of the large herding breeds” can cause problems.

He continued, “Yes, they can be protective of the family, but they are much better suited to living outside on a farm. And if you bring them into your home, they may not have the patience or the ability to get away from children who they find frustrating.”

According to the dog expert, this can often lead to “bites in children”.

Argentine dog

The Dogo Argentino is one of five dog breeds banned in the UK. The others are the Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Fila Brasileiro and, most recently, the XL Bully.

Although Will loves mastiff breeds, he cautions them all. He hears most often that the Dogo Argentino “doesn’t get along well with children.”

The clip he shared on his TikTok account @iamwillatherton went viral with over 985,000 likes and people were quick to share their thoughts in the comments.

One person wrote: “Belgium Malinois are DEFINITELY a working breed. They are wired differently.”

“Good advice. People get dogs that are meant for certain purposes and don’t have the willpower to deal with it,” claimed a fifth.
