Donald Trump angrily denies insulting accusation about what he did right after Kamala Harris’ DNC speech

Donald Trump denied claims that he called Fox News after Kamala Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, claiming that host Bret Baier called him.

The former president focused on an opinion piece on saturday by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, who may have suggested that he was the one who called Baier and Martha Martha MacCallum.

“Bret Baier of Fox News called me, I didn’t call him, right before the speech at the Kamala Convention, and asked me if I wanted to criticize her after she was done. I agreed!” Trump wrote in a Sunday morning Truth Social Post.

He then specifically called Dowd a member of the “Fake News” media.

‘The Fake News, like the often “gilded” Maureen Dowd of the failing New York Times, falsely wrote that I made the calls. WRONG!!!’

He continued, “I don’t have to call to get on TV or anything – They call me! It’s called Ratings, I think, and I’m the ‘Ratings Machine!'”

The seemingly offensive line in Dowd’s article came about halfway through the piece, in which she also attacked Trump for his many Truth Social posts criticizing Harris’ live speech.

“He followed up the messages with a call to Fox News, where he stonewalled Bret Baier and Martha McCallum for 10 minutes until Baier abruptly interrupted him to make a comment on Greg Gutfeld’s comedy show,” Dowd wrote.

Many liberals, not just Dowd, seized on the moment when Baier interrupted Trump while he was still speaking and switched to Gutfeld’s late night show.

Gutfeld even mentioned it when his show started.

“That wasn’t my fault, Donald Trump,” he said.

During Harris’ speech, Trump repeatedly called her a “radical” as he tried out his new nickname, “Comrade Kamala Harris.”

He also attacked her for not mentioning China, fracking and energy, and said she failed to adequately address the issues of Russia and Ukraine.

His attacks on foreign policy continued, with him claiming that Harris would “plunge us into a nuclear World War III!”

Harris, who was on stage, took aim at Trump’s character, calling him an “unserious man.”

She noted what he did on January 6, when his supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.

She also mentioned the crimes he is accused of and the Manhattan hush-money case for which he was convicted.

Many political analysts have indicated that Kamala Harris is currently enjoying a honeymoon period after succeeding Joe Biden as the 2024 presidential candidate.

Polls continue to show a neck-and-neck race between Harris and Trump, with the Republican candidate still favored by many to win in November.
