‘Don’t order linen pants from Shein’ woman cries after humiliating blunder
A WOMAN has issued an urgent warning not to buy Shein linen trousers after she made a terrible mistake with her pants.
Keli wanted a lightweight pair of pants for work and decided to order a pair of cheap white pants from Shein.
But when she put them on, she realized there was no way she could wear them to work because they were almost completely see-through.
The only thing protecting Keli’s modesty was the large pockets at the front of her pants, which were also tight.
“Boys, look what happened to my linen pants,” she said in a video on her TikTok page, struggling to contain her laughter.
“I wanted to wear these to work!” she giggled.
She then walked further away from the camera to show the full effect of the pants, turning around to show the view from the back as well.
“What the…” you heard her say as she turned off the camera.
“Don’t order linen pants from Shein!” Keli added in the caption.
And she soon realized, thanks to the reactions to the video, that she was certainly not the only one who had failed with such pants.
“That happened to mine from Stradavarius too,” someone wrote.
“First spacious, then tight!”
“I got mine from Boohoo and they look the same. I was almost embarrassed I didn’t notice,” said another.
Keli replied, “I’m so glad I tried them on before I left for work!”
“I washed them once and they’re now halfway down my leg,” a third admitted.
“Mine is from Primark,” said someone else.
Keli replied: “I can’t believe so many people are getting ripped off – probably not even linen!”
“This happened to my Zara shoes,” wrote another.
What is Shein and is it legit?
Shein is a fast fashion retailer that operates exclusively online and is based in China. It has become a popular shopping destination for many around the world.
In 2023, the company was valued at $66 billion, dwarfing popular brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion chain was founded in late 2008 by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate sales website and not a phishing scam.
However, according to reviews, you may receive a disappointing order or experience shipping issues if you order through the site.
There are many complaints about the quality, which makes sense when you look at the price tag.
“I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I was like, what the hell is this!” Keli replied.
Others suggested a number of ways she could repair the pants. One wrote: ‘They are not linen, but some other material.’
“Just iron them.”
“If it’s a viscose blend, you’ll need to steam or iron to relax the fibers,” explained another.
As someone else said: “This happened to me with my Bershka pants!!
“I solved them by literally stretching them out – rolling them up to my thighs and holding them up until they returned to normal!”
While someone else said: “Marks & Spencer makes the best linen trousers!!”
“I have washed mine loads and they have never shrunk in the wash.”
“Okay, great!” Keli replied.
“I need new ones!”
