The boat named Sea Story sank this morning near Shaab Satayah, a coral reef popular for diving trips, off the coast of the tourist resort of Marsa Alam.

According to local media, a crew member sent a distress signal at 5:30 am before disappearing from radar and losing contact.

The boat left for a diving trip from Ghalib harbor in Marsa Alam on November 24 and was due to arrive at Hurghada marina on November 29.
