Dunelm shoppers are raving about the £28 bargain, which keeps a room toasty warm for just 45p an hour
Brits have been warned to brace for icy conditions, meaning many cash-strapped households face the same dilemma: stay warm or save money.
With millions of bill payers hit with a hefty 10% increase in their energy bills from this month, many households are looking for affordable ways to stay nice and warm.
Luckily, money-conscious shoppers have discovered the ultimate bargain that will make a room toasty for just a few pennies – and it’s the perfect purchase for this winter and fall season.
For many, Dunelm may be better known for its home decor and DIY essentials, but the popular retailer also offers handbag-friendly gadgets and appliances that are ideal for the cold weather.
Dunelm has many stoves on offer, but one is getting rave reviews from shoppers as ‘the best winter buy’.
The 2000W convector heater costs just £28 and costs just 45p per hour to run.
Moreover, the Winter Essential is also easy to install: simply connect and switch on.
The budget-friendly heater has three adjustable settings, depending on how much heat you want.
Meanwhile, the carrying handle makes it easy to swap and change which room you set up your personal heater in.
Online, the Dunelm device has received more than 100 reviews from satisfied customers, dozens of which have the highest rating of five stars.
One happy shopper said: “What a great little heater. Quiet and powerful enough to heat any room in minutes.”
Another added: “Very good heater. It heats the room well and hasn’t made the electricity bill high at all. Highly recommended, totally worth the money!”
A third agreed: “Amazing! It heats the room in no time and is better than turning the heating on.”
Someone else shared: “The heat coming from there [the heater] it’s great.
”Within an hour my living room was so warm and cozy and that was on a bitterly cold morning.
4 ways to keep your energy bill low
Laura Court-Jones, small business editor at Bionic shared her tips.
1. Turn your heating down one degree
You probably won’t even notice this small temperature difference, but what you will notice is a saving on your energy bill. By turning the thermostat down a step, you can quickly start saving. This one small action only takes a few seconds and could potentially reduce your heating costs by €171.70.
2. Turn off appliances and lights
It sounds simple, but completely turning off appliances and lights that aren’t in use can lower your energy bills, especially in winter. By switching off lights and appliances when they are not in use, you can save up to €20 per year on your energy bill
3. Install a smart meter
Smart meters are a great way to keep control of your energy consumption, especially as they allow you to see where and when your gas and electricity are being used.
4. Consider changing energy supplier
No matter how satisfied you are with your current energy supplier, they may not give you the best deals, especially if you have let a fixed rate contract expire without taking out a new contract. If you haven’t looked at alternative rates lately, you might not know that there are better options out there.
“At first I was a little concerned because it was a low price. But I can assure everyone that this will be your best winter purchase.”
However, despite the rave reviews, there was some criticism as a few customers had issues with their device.
Some claimed their products arrived damaged, while others said their heaters “stopped working” after just a few uses.
One moaned: ”Wasn’t heating at all.” Just took over my space!”
”Projects little to no heat, even on the highest setting. There was a dent where the leg stand was supposed to be and a bad smell,” wrote another.
