EC wants BJP, Congress's answer to charges against Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah

NEW DELHI: Based on the allegations leveled by the BJP and Congress against each other, the Election Commission on Saturday exchanged the complaints and sought replies from the presidents of the two parties on the charges against their officials.
The Congress had filed a complaint against Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly labeling the party as anti-SC/ST/OBC and sought a ban on campaigning by the two for the rest of the campaign period .
The BJP, on the other hand, complained about Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s comments alleging that the BJP was promoting RSS, which allowed Gujarat to take away important investment projects from other states and also the independence of constitutional and statutory bodies like EC, CBI, ED etc would endanger. a restriction on Rahul in “peddling” such “lies” and demanded an FIR against Rahul and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge in this regard.
On Saturday, the EC, in separate letters to BJP president JP Nadda and Kharge, sought formal replies from both before 1 pm on Monday.
