Jordan Peterson, who conducted the interview for the Daily threadcalled Musk’s initial concerns about suicide “a lie from the beginning” and said there was “never any evidence for it.” He argued that underlying depression and anxiety are the cause of higher suicide rates among transgender people, not gender dysphoria.

Only 13 percent of transgender and non-binary youth reported using gender-affirming hormones in 2023, and only two percent took puberty blockers.

“I was tricked. It wasn’t explained to me that puberty blockers are actually just sterilization drugs,” he said.

“I lost my son, actually. They don’t call it ‘deadnaming’ for nothing. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead, so my son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.”

Deadnaming is the way transgender people typically deal with the names others gave them before they began their transition.

Unlike other billionaires, Musk hasn’t spent large sums on political donations, but he has previously donated money to both Republicans and Democrats.

In recent years, however, Musk appears to be leaning more towards the Republican Party.
