A murder investigation has been launched after Emeli Sande’s rapper ex-boyfriend Hypo was stabbed to death during a brawl at a party in the early hours of this morning.
The singer, 39, was stabbed repeatedly at a location when a brawl broke out just after midnight in East London’s Woodford Green.
Paramedics rushed to the area and found the performer with stab wounds. They tried to save the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A partygoer filmed the moment medical workers tried to resuscitate the rapper before heartlessly sharing the clip on social media.
No arrests have been made yet and the area around the party is still cordoned off, the Met Police said.
Hypo reportedly got into a “trivial quarrel” at the party, while being held in a large tent, before being fatally stabbed, reports the Sun†
The leading figure of East London-based rappers collective Mashtown was filmed in a car en route to the venue, smiling and dancing with friends.
Scottish singer Emeli and Hypo were in a relationship for about a year before splitting up in 2017, but they are said to have remained friends.
Growing up in Islington, north London, Hypo is said to have had a checkered past, but his friends said he had “softened” in recent years as he focused on his music career.
