Gomes came to Lille van Manchester United In 2020, after having made 10 senior performances for the Old Trafford Club.

He spent the following season on loan in Bavista in Portugal, but has since seen in more than 100 Ligue 1 matches for Lille, which ended fifth in the French top flight this season.

Gomes will be available on a free transfer this summer and the interest in his signature is high.

Multiple Premier League clubs – including West Ham and Tottenham – are supposed to bring him back to England, while Marseille would like to keep him in France.

All four Senior International Caps of Gomes so far came under Interim manager Lee Carsley last year.

He debuted as a replacement in the 2-0 victory of England in September to Ireland, before playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over Finland in Wembley only three days later.

Gomes then also played in a 3-1 triumph to Finland in October and the 5-0 Thrashing of Ireland in November.

Before Gomes broke in the Senior Side, Gomes enjoyed a very successful youth career at England and won the U17 World Cup in 2017 and the U21 European Championship in 2023.
