A public space protection order (PSPO) has been introduced by Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.

It can take a maximum of three years and connects the efforts of the Council to clamp on breakfast during the two -day meeting.

The order applies to anyone who is bothered or threatened others, or continues to drink alcohol after he has been ordered to stop by a police officer, community support officer or council officer.

The order was voted by the council last month.

Shanice Goldman, chairman of the Crime and Disorder Committee, said: “The PSPO is a new tool specifically for the Epsom & Ewell area that will enable the police and the appropriate council staff to effectively tackle antisocial behavior, without immediately resorting to arrests.

“I hope that this order will guarantee a nicer experience for everyone in the day, as well as a safer environment in the town.”
