Inisherin (3.13 York, nap)
Ryan Moore has clocked the big racing victories and this four-year-old can add to his count. He did really good for trainer Kevin Ryan last season. After he had not stayed in the 2,000 Guineas, he was wisely fallen back on this six-fruise journey. That saw him win the Sandy Lane in Haydock for a brilliant Commonwealth Cup victory at Royal Ascot. It is true that he fell by the end of the season, but he is back for the first time on and with Moore in the saddle. He likes to have the pace – which is usually a smart move in York – and everything that is close to his best form would do the work.
Brave (4.18 York, NB)
Looks ready to hit the target for Andrew Balding. He spent the last time with a rapidly decreasing fourth on handicap debut in Newmarket. Oisin Murphy got his timing somewhat wrong there and this three -year -old had a lot left over the border. The handicapper has taken him generously 1 pound despite that promising run and walking to seven Furlongs looks a wise movement. He likes decent land and has to take a big step forward today.
Stress -free (2.10 york, treble)
He did not live up to his name at Epsom the last time when he was not lucky in running before he went down with a length. That was an excellent effort in the circumstances and he should be happy to go up during the trip today. He was placed on his last two visits to York and can match that more than today.
