Ex-chelsea ace canoville hurried to the hospital after ‘serious health deterioration’

Former Chelsea star Paul Canoville is after a “serious decline in physical health.”

The 63-year-old was the first black football player to play for the Blues After signing Hillingdon Borough in 1981.

And After winning the Boo BoysCanoville became a club icon in 1984 to the Second Division title in Leiden.

The former Chelsea wing player – who, however, scored 15 goals in 103 games before he became a member Reading In 1986 – it is now in the hospital after a major setback for healthcare.

He is forced to cancel various charities, including the premiere of a documentary about his own life on Thursday.

And Canoville, who later fought with crack cocaine addiction and cancer, now wants to recover “considerable toll on his mental well -being.”

A statement from the Paul Canoville Foundation was: “It is with a heavy heart that I am an update about the health of our founder, Paul Canoville.

“Paul is currently in the hospital due to a serious decrease in his physical health, who has also taken an important toll of his mental well -being.

“If someone who has overcome extraordinary challenges all his life, Paul remains determined – but he now needs time, care and space to recover.

“His recent absence of school visits and, the most heartbreaking, show racism, the Red Card reception in Downing Street earlier this week, is deeply disturbing to him.

“We also want to prepare friends and supporters that it is very unlikely that it is the premiere of the new documentary about his life tomorrow night (Thursday) in Regent Street Cinema – something he had been looking forward to.

“Out of respect for his need to rest and cure, we kindly ask that people are not contacting Paul at the moment.

“The regular public performances of Paul are an important part of his income. While taking this time away, we ask for donations to alleviate that burden and Continue the impactful work of the foundation.

Chelsea sent their best wishes to their former star and paid him to a statement.

It reads: “Our thoughts are with Paul Canoville and his family at this difficult time.

“Paul’s incredible endurance as a player and the work of his foundation has produced inspiration for so many.”

After his time in Reading, Canoville for Enfield, Maidhead, Burnham, Northwood and Egham Town turned out to retire in 1994.

Towards the end of his career, Canoville became addicted to crack cocaine and had several stints in rehabilitation.

The ACE was also diagnosed twice with cancer in 1996 and 2004, making a complete recovery every time.

In 2015 he founded the Paul Canoville Foundation to support vulnerable children and young people.

And in 2021, Canoville was admitted to the hospital after complications of emergency operations before returning to his foundation work.
