If your plans to become the CEO of a giant multinational corporation have fallen through, this is your chance to experience what it’s like to live like a billionaire on a budget while you come into your own.

Easily book a stay on Airbnb: the fuselage of a Boeing 727 airplane, decked out as a private jet, complete with a king-size bed, couches, a kitchen and a hot tub.

And if you fancy something other than pretending to be a billionaire, you can always play pilot. The plane’s cockpit is in place with working lights and “hundreds of switches,” a feature that made one guest feel “like a kid again.”

The fuselage has no wings, but is mounted on shipping containers in the secure creative industries centre ‘Skyline Park’ in the Brislington district of Bristol, England.

Guests can access the park with a code and then walk up the stairs to an outdoor terrace with a hot tub and shower.

From there they can reach their overnight accommodation via the working ‘air staircase’.

As photos show, the converted plane is a sight to behold, with “walnut paneling, gold detailing and crystals” adorning the interior.

The aircraft was built in 1968, but converted into a private jet in 1981.

The hosts reveal: ‘The interiors are all original from 1981 and have been restored. In some places there is wear and tear to be expected from furnishings that are over 40 years old, including some stains on the cream wool carpet.’

The “exquisite space” comfortably sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms, according to the Airbnb listing.

In addition to a king-size bed, there are two bunk beds and fresh linens.

The aircraft has two lounge areas with televisions: one with comfortable first-class-style seats, drinks cabinets and a large table for dining, and the other with a sofa for lounging.

The spacious hull also has three toilets, an indoor shower and a large fridge-freezer in the galley.

There are also heating elements throughout the aircraft that can be individually adjusted and a ‘complex’ lighting system controlled by multiple switches that ‘guests are allowed to play with’.

This gives anyone who stays a taste of the fun to be had exploring the front of the plane and the highlight of the whole experience: the cockpit.

Visitors can sit in the pilot and co-pilot seats, play with the joystick, flip switches, push buttons, press the gears and shout ‘mayday’ while pretending to fly the plane.

The ‘Boeing 727 Airliner Private Jet’ has received rave reviews from holidaymakers, earning a five out of five rating on Airbnb.

Tourist ‘Jade’ wrote: ‘The plane was amazing. I felt like a kid again playing in the cockpit and pretending to fly.

“The furniture and decor were also amazing – I felt like a rich person in a private jet! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.”

While ‘Lindsay’ added: ‘What a unique find! We will never forget our stay.’

‘I can honestly say this was an unforgettable experience and the flight exceeded all our expectations! I came across this by chance and couldn’t resist booking it as a surprise for my husband… I can safely say he was surprised!

‘Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but how often do you get the chance to stay in a Boeing 727?!’

‘The plane was full of charm, character and there were so many cupboards and switches to explore… the original furniture and expensive fittings made it all the more luxurious.’

Airbnb has a two-night minimum stay at a cost of £300 per night, plus a cleaning fee (£50) and Airbnb service fee (£110). Visit: Airbnb.nl.
