Expert reveals 56 cent hack you should do THIS MONTH to thicken lawn

A gardening expert has urged homeowners to carry out a 56p hack this October to ensure your lawn grows back thicker and greener in winter.

After a hot summer, many of us will have noticed that our lawns are looking a bit thin and sparse and in need of some maintenance. TLC.

And according to Joe’s Lawn Careleftover beer is an unlikely method you can use to get your grass looking thick and green again.

According to the expert, the sugars and yeast in beer help promote microbial activity, which enriches the soil and encourages thicker growth.

However, he warned that as beer can attract slugs and snails, it is important to dilute it with water to reduce the risk of pesky critters taking over your garden.

You can buy a can of lager from Aldi for as little as 99 cents, or you can simply use leftovers from parties or barbecues.

To use this method, simply mix one part beer and one part water.

Place the mixture in a garden sprinkler, bucket or garden hose and spread it evenly over the grass.

During the autumnyou should use this method every few weeks and see noticeable improvements.

Carbohydrates in beer act as food for bacteria which breaks down organic matter and releases nutrients to the grass.

The yeast also helps support the development of healthy soil microbes, contributing to a more balanced soil ecosystem.
