This follows research showing that one in four Brits claim Halloween is their favorite holiday – and they will be spending a lot of money on it this year.

A month before the big night, a survey of 2,000 adults revealed they are preparing to spend almost £100 in October, after spending an average of just £21 in previous years.

And 24 percent formulate their plans for Halloween at least a month in advance, with half believing that the products should be in stores on time.

A third plan to hand out treats, 25 percent will carve pumpkins and 20 percent will decorate their homes with ornaments.

While 20 percent will don a full costume for the big night.

It also emerged that 23 percent will become competitive when it comes to the design – with the living room, veranda and hallway taking on a creepy look.

Vicky Woods out Disney storewho commissioned the research to launch the Halloween collection, said: “Halloween has really gained momentum in the UK in recent years, evidenced by the research and interest from our own customers.

“As a result, more people than ever are transforming their homes inside and out for the occasion – from dressing up to throwing themed parties.

“We’re seeing searches for Halloween-themed products start earlier each year, starting around mid-July and peaking in the first week of October.

“Social media, along with influences from around the world, have certainly played a role in increasing excitement and spending as people strive to make their celebrations more elaborate and memorable.”

When it comes to costume choice, 16 percent prefer a non-frightening option, but 31 percent are after fear.

But 31 percent say social media has influenced decorations and costumes over the years, with 24 percent also wanting to outdo others with their costume choices.

However, 26 percent think Halloween can be just as much fun for adults as it is for children; 18 percent enjoy knocking on trick-or-treaters’ doors.

Of the 36 percent surveyed via OnePoll who are responsible for the children during the evening, 51 percent get excited and 46 percent of children enjoy dressing up.

How do Brits prepare for Halloween?

A survey of 2,000 adults found that 24% of people make their Halloween plans at least a month in advance.

A full costume will be worn by 20% of the people, and the same amount will decorate their homes.

At least 25% will carve pumpkins, while 26% of adults say Halloween is as much fun for them as it is for kids.

The pleasure of trick-or-treating will be experienced by 18%.

More than half of adults responsible for children that evening say they get excited, while 46% of children say they enjoy dressing up.

Vicky Woods, from the Disney Store, added: “It’s fascinating to see how many people now consider Halloween their favorite ‘holiday’.

“Kids especially like to have fun, and it’s a perfect opportunity for families to get together and get creative.

“But it’s always worth planning ahead – the best costumes and decorations often fly off the shelves as the big night approaches.

“We’ve made Halloween extra special this year with a fantastic selection of themed products for everyone.

“With these magical items, families can create a truly unforgettable Halloween experience.”
