Expert Warns About Hair Loss in the Shower – 4 Steps to Prevent Damage
IT can be annoying to have excess hair after showering, but one expert shared a solution that doesn’t cost too much.
Although hair loss after washing is mainly caused by loose hairs that would fall out anyway, there may also be another cause that can be solved by simply changing the hair.
Louise Bailey is an expert in hair extensions at Beauty club london.
She revealed four steps to keep your locks in place by preventing damage, starting with washing your hair.
Hard shower water can cause hair loss because of the minerals it contains.
This build-up eventually leads to clogged hair follicles on the scalp, resulting in excessive hair loss.

Bailey recommended getting healthier hair after washing.
“Make sure you wash your hair with clarifying shampoos to remove mineral buildup and other hair products,” she said.
“If you can’t reach this, opt for a sulfate-free shampoo to limit the damage.”
The expert also gave advice on the most effective way to wash hair while maintaining the integrity of the strands.
“Gently rinse your hair and then apply a protective oil that is suitable for your hair type. Leave it on for 30 minutes before washing it out,” she advised as a first step.
“The oil prevents minerals from sticking and provides a moisturizing and softening effect.”
She shared a specific way to rinse the hair so that it is properly cleansed.
“After 30 minutes, rinse the oil out gently and massage the clarifying shampoo thoroughly into the scalp and hair to remove any remaining residue,” the doctor said.
For the third step, she recommended using her own method of conditioning the hair.
“Rinse it out and apply the conditioner, avoiding the scalp and the top half of your hair.”
What is hard water?
Hard water means that the water contains a high level of minerals, such as calcium and magnesium.
It usually leaves a layer on the skin.

Finally, she recommended investing in a water filter or a water-softening shower head.
In the US, hard water is often used for showering. This not only leads to hair loss, but also hinders hair growth.
Soft water contains no harmful minerals, allowing hair care products to penetrate the hair and scalp better.
With the right hair products, this can lead to a visible difference in the hair.
Bailey also advised making lifestyle changes to keep your hair looking good.
“Hair loss can have a huge impact on your self-confidence, but there are several things you can do to reduce it, including living a healthy lifestyle,” she says.
“This includes paying extra attention to a healthy diet, a balanced sleep routine and mild hair care.”
