Family Feud Reveals ‘Insurmountable Flaw’ in Gerry Turner and Theresa’s Marriage
GERRY Turner and Theresa Nist’s appearance on Celebrity Family Feud has revealed the truth behind their failed marriage, according to a body language expert.
She claimed that Theresa’s gestures during the game show indicated that the couple was doomed from the start, with the New Jersey native seeking support from her “flaunting” husband.
Gerry, 71, and Theresa, 70, appeared on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud that aired Tuesday.
They filmed the show before their split in April, competing with their children Angie, Jenny, Jen and Tommy.
The Golden Bachelor group competed against the Bachelor team, consisting of Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson.
Though the couple called it quits after their wedding on The Golden Bachelor in January, they made the most of their romance in public during their stint on the game show.
Body language expert Judi James said Theresa’s gestures contrasted with Gerry’s and indicated that their marriage was already in crisis.
“Theresa looked vulnerable and reserved from start to finish,” she told The US Sun.
“Her signals indicated that she desperately wanted her marriage to Gerry to have a happy ending.
“The saddest non-verbal story was when she comforted herself with her wedding ring.
“Theresa wanted to see Gerry as ‘The One.’
“Gerry’s gestures, however, showed that he saw marriage as a ladder to fame.
Theresa showed no signs of fame-seeking or an inflated ego.
“This is what would cause them to divorce months later and would point to an insurmountable flaw in their marriage. This couple was already in crisis.”
During the 2023 Golden Bachelor finale, Gerry proposed to Theresa, choosing her over 64-year-old Leslie Fhima.
It seemed like the couple were a good match as Theresa caught Gerry’s attention among the 22 other candidates.
She had a first date with the father of two and in January they married live on television.
The couple split after Theresa reportedly decided not to move out.
BOUND TOGETHER
According to James, Theresa showed genuine feelings for her new husband during Celebrity Family Feud.
“She played with her wedding ring when she was pressured during the question period,” she said.
Theresa’s vulnerability was counterbalanced by Gerry’s competitiveness and her total focus on winning.

“This showed that she wanted to turn to her husband for support and reassurance, as you might expect in a marriage.
“Theresa did this more than once, indicating that she had genuine feelings for him despite their impending breakup.
“Theresa looked terrified when she was alone in the spotlight, and her eyes sometimes shone with sadness.”
The Family Feud episode also featured Theresa kicking off the first segment, but with some hesitation.
“Are you here against your will?” host Steve Harvey remarked.
“Yes!” Theresa replied.
Gerry came out of the trap like a rat with his cheerful, showy walk.

James claimed that Theresa’s mouth movements showed she didn’t want to be there.
“Theresa was rubbing her tongue around the inside of her mouth here, as if she was performing a grinning ritual,” she said
“Her grimace on her smile indicated she wasn’t joking.”
RAT TRAP
James, on the other hand, said that Gerry had only come to win the show.
“Theresa’s vulnerability was counterbalanced by Gerry’s competitiveness and total focus on winning,” she said
“His broad, quick stride, with his heels hitting the ground first, gave the impression that he couldn’t wait to show off his charm and humor.
“Gerry came out of the trap like a rat with his cheerful, showy way of walking.
“He grinned broadly at the host, but gave his wife no concerned, loving look of congratulations or reassurance.”
Gerry and Theresa first explained their split on Good Morning America, saying it was due to distance.
“Theresa and I have had some candid conversations and examined our living situation,” Gerry said.
“We have mutually come to the decision that it is probably time to dissolve our marriage.”
He also showed sexual confidence when he posed with his hands over his crotch.

Gerry remained in Indiana with Theresa in New Jersey and the divorce was finalized in June.
Interestingly enough, on the Best Shandy Podcastthe couple admitted to having an argument.
“We scream, shout and say sorry, and that’s better for us,” Theresa said.
“Point, counterpoint, and then it’ll speed up a little bit and we’ll look at each other like, ‘Really? I’m absolutely right,'” Gerry added.
TO PERSEVERE
“When Therea’s score came up on the game show, they used arrow keys,” James explains.
“They avoided any physical eye contact.
Theresa raised her hands in front of her face to clap, creating a barrier.
“Gerry was focused on winning and it showed in his victory rituals.
“He used his fist and pretended to rub his hand while sticking out his tongue.
“There was also a sense of sexual confidence when he posed with his hands over his crotch.
“His fingers were folded and his thumbs were pointed upward in the shape of a steeple.
“Overall, their different body language was telling of the conflicting signals of desire Gerry and Theresa were giving.
“Their intentions and the fulfillment of their goals in life seemed to be opposite.”
