A VIRAL cardigan from Primark proved so popular with shoppers that it’s now listed on Vinted for more than double its original price.

Fashion lovers criticised online users who bought up the stylish item only to resell it for an inflated price.

In her viral videoTikTok user Georgia Churchill (@georgiachurchill) shared her thoughts on the situation.

“Sorry, what? We’re talking about Primark,” she pointed out to her followers.

“I know everyone is crazy about this viral Primark cardigan, but I was honestly shocked when I saw the price of it on Vinted.”

Georgia explained that she had seen the viral item for £40 on various Vinted accounts.

The look is currently available at Primark for just £19.

The vest in question is a simple shirt with two square pockets on the front.

It comes in a variety of colours and is part of the store’s latest fall collection.

“I’ll be honest, it’s a nice cardigan, but £40? Is it okay?” asked Georgia.

She added that she has a similar garment in her wardrobe and that this style can be found elsewhere as well.

“I mean, I have a cardigan in my closet that looks exactly the same,” she told her audience.

Head over to Primark, the viral jumpers are back – I wore mine all last winter so I’m glad I can get it in another colour

Georgia also said she was glad she didn’t rush into buying the item after some customers reported the quality wasn’t great.

The unimpressed TikToker concluded that “the world has gone mad.”

Other online users shared their thoughts about the upcharge in the comments section.

“I really don’t know why it’s such a hype, it’s ok, I tried it on but it itched so much that I put it back in,” wrote one viewer.

“I was thinking of messaging people who sell them on Vinted [asking if they are] “I’m kidding,” said someone else.

Primark’s best deals for autumn

Heading to Primark soon? Keep an eye out for these items.

Here, Fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend reveals her top six Primark buys this autumn.

Coat£60
I know what you’re thinking: ‘£60 for Primark?’ Yes, it’s more expensive than we’re used to from Primark, but it’s worth every penny.
This one is from their Edit range, which is more expensive than the rest of their collection and is built to last.
It is a wool blend that is durable and warm, and has a timeless straight silhouette that is slightly oversized and will last not only this season but also beyond.

Bag, €16
Big bags are back… Finally, in a big way.
This bag exudes luxury with its croc effect and dark orange colour. Plus it’s ideal for carrying your laptop, lunch, change of shoes, bag – basically everything you need for the day. And all for £16.

Jacket£32
Field jackets are very popular this season with celebrities and catwalk models. Designer brands like Barbour, Burberry and Bottega wear the utilitarian look.
They are great to wear over jeans or as a contrast to a floral or flowy dress. They are also the perfect in-between jacket.

Dress£18,
You’ve probably seen, heard and read that leopard print won’t go away at all in the fall. To illustrate the trend, this dress is a must-have.
Sleeves? Check. Midi length? Check. Ultra-flattering square neck? Check. It’s got it all.
Pair it with black over-the-knee boots or your favorite sneakers during the day and go for a chic look in the evening with gold heels and accessories.

Jeans£16
Barrel-shaped, balloon-shaped, horseshoe-shaped – whatever you call them, they are this season’s must-have trouser styles.
I tried on a pair from Primark and they fit great, are comfortable and flattering.
So if you think you don’t have anything that meets the fashion, you can trade in your favorite denim for this model and be completely up-to-date again.

Bootand, £24
It’s boot season and instead of feeling like you have to buy boots in every color, length, and height, opt for one pair that you can wear with most of your wardrobe.
My jaw nearly dropped when I saw that these black, knee-high block heel, flat toe and side zip shoes (so I don’t have to take them off at the end of the day) were just £24.
If you buy one thing this season, make it this.

“People have no shame, oh my God,” a third TikTok user responded.

“People need to stop believing these girls and let them do what they want. It irritates me so much,” another follower commented.

“People are wild, girl, [I] “I agree with that,” said one commentator.

Others pointed out that this isn’t the first time Vinted users have inflated the value of an item.

“Someone sold the £17 burgundy jumper for £50,” one viewer wrote.
