Orlando Bloom sent fans into a frenzy on Wednesday when he called his fiancée Katy Perry by her real name during his heartfelt introduction speech.
The 39-year-old singer was honored with the MTV Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards for his “exceptional contributions and significant impact” on music videos.
When she took the stage to accept her award, Orlando, 47, gave her a heartfelt tribute with a speech, but to the surprise of fans, he casually revealed her real name.
He told the audience: ‘You fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I feel in love with her as Katheryn Hudson. You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor to every song she writes and every music video she makes.’
“I know her as a mother, as a partner, who brings that same love and joy to our family. When we needed it most, her music and the remarkable world she creates have brought a sense of joy and laughter, inspiring generations of people around the world.”

Fans expressed their surprise at the mention on X, formerly known as Twitter.
One viewer wrote: ‘KATY PERRY IS NOT HER REAL NAME WHAT’; ‘I turned 18 today when I found out Katy Perry’s real name isn’t Katy Perry… Taylor is the only artist who uses her real name.’

After accepting her award, the loved-up couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other and kissed on stage.
Katy was recently in the news for making some racy comments about her sex life with Orlando and she couldn’t resist making another X-rated comment that night.
Earlier, she boasted in a racy interview that she had performed sexual acts on him as a playful way to reward him for doing household chores.
During her acceptance speech, she thanked him again for “doing the dishes,” while referencing the spicy glimpse into their relationship.

The comments were in reference to her viral remarks about how she thanked him for doing chores during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast this month.
Earlier in the evening, she put on a racy show for Orlando as she arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards – just days after he was photographed admiring Kim Kardashian’s derriere at a gala.
The couple held hands and kissed on the red carpet.
Orlando, who has four-year-old daughter Daisy with Katy, looked on in admiration as they stood hand-in-hand on the red carpet.
Katy looked absolutely stunning in a tight, white look from Who Decides War, which showed off her toned abs.
The sexy style was completed with a frayed crop top that accentuated her cleavage and a matching skirt.
She had a gorgeous wet hair look, with her jet black locks falling down in super shiny curls.
The makeup consisted of a striking shade of smokey eye shadow, pink blush and matte lipstick.
In another daring take, she wore a metallic bracelet and a QR code etched on her lower back.
Orlando, meanwhile, let his partner steal the show by adopting a look that ensured Katy remained the centre of attention.

The Lord Of The Rings star wore a stylish black suit paired with a long-sleeved top.
The appearance came just days after he snuck a peek at Kim Kardashian’s posterior during the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women Dinner with Katy Perry.
The actor, who looked extremely elegant in his classic black tie outfit, looked down at Kim’s behind as he stood next to his fiancée with his arm resting on her side.
Katy has since shared her reaction to the viral photo.
During a performance at the Elvis Duran Showshe discussed with Kim the photo she and Orlando had taken.
“You’re in the picture with Kim Kardashian, and Orlando’s staring at her,” the host said, laughing. Katy joined in, “at our,” and Elvis finished the sentence, “at her butt.”
He continued, “I mean, how could you not?” Katy replied, “I approve.”

The hitmaker didn’t seem to care about the situation as she asked: ‘Wait a minute, what’s the controversy?’

Elvis went on to read an article about the event Katy and Orlando attended, which described footage of them with the actor’s hand “right above Katy’s butt.”
“It’s been other places,” she joked, adding, “I’m sorry to tell you. My daughter is four.”
“Katy is a musical giant and a true pop culture icon,” Bruce Gillmer, Chief Content Officer of Music at Paramount+ and President of Music, Music Talent, Programming and Events at Paramount, said in a statement, according to AP.
“With her groundbreaking creative vision, she has become a global phenomenon, conquering the world’s biggest stages,” Gillmer added.
Previous winners of the Video Vanguard Award include David Bowie, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and Pink.
The award comes as Perry prepares for the release of her seventh studio album, 143. Her comeback single from the album, Woman’s World, flopped on the charts after its release last summer.
Additionally, she was heavily criticized for her collaboration on Woman’s World with Dr. Luke, the music producer who was accused of sexual assault by Kesha in a lawsuit that was later dismissed. Dr. Luke has consistently denied the allegations.
