Fitbit is redesigning its Stress Management pages as part of its larger redesign
Fitbit’s app is changing. Last week, Google’s health and fitness app (one of the best fitness apps around) changed the way its heart rate page was laid out. This time around, it’s the turn of Stress Management, Body Response, and Mindfulness.
Spotted by 9to5GoogleThese changes were reportedly made with Google’s unified app design language, Material 3, in mind for consistency across apps. With Fitbit.com closing and migrating to the Google Store, Google likely wants Fitbit’s app to be consistent with the rest of its Android and Pixel portfolio.
The changes, which come into effect with update version 4.26. 1, will see toolbar tabs replace chronological timelines. Stress Management and Body Response gain “Day” and “Week” tabs to better track your last seven days, while Mindfulness gains “Week,” “Month,” and “Year” tabs to better track meditation streaks.
A few features also appear to have been renamed, with the “Responsiveness” metric under your Activity Score being renamed “Physical Calmness” and “Exertion Balance” being renamed “Activity Balance.” The changes have also been reflected in posts from keen-eyed users Fitbit subreddit.
It’s unclear whether these name changes imply a change in how your scores are calculated, but we don’t believe this is the case at this time.
To get the updated version of the app without waiting for an automatic update, you need to go to the Play Store app. Under the menu icon, tap the ‘Update’ button next to the Fitbit app.
