Five dog breeds to avoid: They don’t grow past the “puppy stage” until they’re five
A CANINE expert has revealed the top breeds she would rather not have in her home.
She explained that certain dogs take longer to grow out of the “puppy stage.”
In her viral videothe TikTok user who goes by Tea revealed the reasoning behind her choices.
She specifically discussed dog breeds that are often considered “scary.”
As a first choice, she explained why she would not choose a Giant Schnauzer.
While she acknowledged that this breed is “incredible,” she also pointed out that they have “too much energy” for her.
The TikToker said she has discussed the breed with several owners.
According to the pet parents, Giant Schnauzers “never really learn to chill out when there’s a stranger in the house.”
While Tea said this wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for her, she pointed out that it was a trait she would like to train out of her dog.
She also discussed the reasons why she wouldn’t own a Beauceron.
The dog lover said the breed is “fantastic” and had previously piqued her interest.
However, one important detail meant that they were not the ideal pet for her.
Tea described the breed as “a little too complex” for what she was looking for.
“They don’t reach maturity until three to five years, especially the males,” she explained.
She added that they are also known to “recover quite slowly from adverse experiences,” making them more difficult to train.
Tea told her followers that she would like a dog that is “a little more forgiving.”
She also called out two of her honorable mentions, the Anatolian Shepherd and the Pitbull.
