Flight attendants talk about what really happens when people join the Mile High Club
Catching someone doing their dirty work is humiliating for all parties involved.
But flight attendants appear to be at greater risk because fliers often try to join the Mile High Club.
Passionate passengers try to liven up flights in many different ways – by playfully sitting in their seats or clambering to the bathroom for a quickie.
But now flight attendants are talking about when they caught people red-handed – and what they actually do when they see it.
A curious Reddit user asked, “Flight attendants, do you usually know when a couple joins the Mile High Club? How often does it happen and how do you handle it?”
A former flight attendant, who claims to have worked for Australian airline Qantas, said it was harder to see sex taking place on larger planes.

It was also harder to spot in first class because people had privacy and beds to lie on – which has caused problems in the past.
They recalled: “The one experience I will probably never forget is on a flight from Australia to Vietnam, a young couple was very playful with each other since the beginning of the trip. It turned out to be their honeymoon.
“Some flight attendants decided to give the newlyweds a basket full of goodies that we had all put together. We included goods normally reserved for flight crew (pre-packaged cakes, beer, junk food and other essentials).
“Anyway, Debbie is taking this to their fight Nice basket with all the goods in it, and we all watch from the flight attendant/waiting area, with a big smile on our faces.
“She reaches their row (at the far end, near the back), she turns to them, jumps, says something to them, bows a few times and quickly walks back to the rest of us.”
It turned out that the couple was up to no good and they were all hysterical about the situation.
They added: “Good old Deb said there was a short circuit in her brain and all she could say was, ‘Oh! Nice penis, sir. This is a gift on behalf of the staff for you and your wife, thanks goodbye ‘.”
Another ex-flight attendant revealed Reddit that it was very unlikely that they would end it as long as it wasn’t too obvious.
They revealed: “I could see the blanket moving up and down rhythmically.
Why do people join the Mile High Club?
Married dating site IllicitEncounters has revealed that 2% of people are members of the Mile High Club, but why do people do it in the first place? Sexpert Jessica Leoni explains why.
What makes public sex so attractive? According to Jessica Leoni, leading sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.comit’s all about the rush.
“People are attracted to public sex because of the sheer excitement and adrenaline,” Leoni explains. “The fear of being caught heightens the experience, making it more exciting and memorable. For some, its forbidden nature adds an extra layer of intensity.”
She adds: “There is also something about the environment that is disconnected from reality. When people are outside their usual routine, especially during holidays or business trips, they are more likely to act on impulses that they may be suppressing at home.”
While these escapades may sound exciting, they are not without serious risks. Getting caught in public can lead to more than just embarrassment. Although outdoor sex is not explicitly illegal in all cases, various laws can lead to an arrest. But for some, the gamble only adds to the excitement.
“So I did what any self-respecting flight attendant would do and told the other crew members to take a look too. We all took a look and then burst out laughing in the aft galley,” they continued.
One flight attendant also admitted to turning a blind eye as long as couples arrived quickly.
They said: “I generally don’t care enough to do anything about it as long as they are discreet and don’t stay there for a year. If you’re going to do it, make sure it’s spicy. Other people need to pee.
“I’ve had people ask me if they could go to the bathroom together… I just say no because I don’t want to be involved. I think you can get into a lot more trouble if you start doing that.” .” your seating area.”
But they did warn that planes weren’t as clean as they looked – especially the bathrooms, so warned people it might not be worth it.
