Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather has spoken out after footage emerged of him appearing to be confronted by an angry crowd in London.
Mayweather, 47, was shopping in London’s jewelry district when he got into a heated argument with several people on the street.
The video, posted on X on Tuesday night, showed Mayweather’s security intervened and bundled him into the back of a darkened 4×4 before he was driven away.
Mayweather has now responded to the incident on Instagram, denying there was any physical altercation.
“Let me set the record straight: There is no truth to the rumors circulating,” Mayweather’s statement began.
‘I was never hit or touched in any way. What you see is my security doing their job to keep things under control.

Mayweather retired from boxing with a 50-0 record after beating Conor McGregor in 2017
‘I was in the UK for a quick 48 hour stopover to do some shopping, and unfortunately people allowed jealousy and negativity to fuel false narratives. I’m doing fine, and that’s really all there is to it.’
Mayweather’s account of the events differed from that of one witness who told it The sun that the boxer, who retired in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record, “took a few hits.”
The source said Mayweather was shopping when asked if he supported Israel.
He then said he was “proud to support the Jews,” prompting someone to launch an attack on him, the source added.
They continued, “Then someone lashed out at him because of it. It looked very purposeful.
‘Floyd took a few blows, but his security tried to push people back.
“I couldn’t really see Floyd trying to throw a punch back. His guards were just trying to put distance between him and them.”
In March, Floyd headed to Israel to show his support for the country amid the ongoing war with Hamas.
The confrontation comes after he pledged his support for Israel amid their conflict with Hamas
When the conflict with Hamas first began last year, Mayweather pledged his allegiance to Israel on social media, insisting he was “standing with” the country.
He wrote: ‘I stand with Israel against the Hamas terrorists. Hamas does not represent the people of Palestine, but is a terrorist group that attacks innocent lives!
“I stand up for all people and wish for the safe return of all Americans and Israelis and all those kidnapped as hostages during these heinous war crimes.
‘This is no time for politics. This is first and foremost a time of safety.
“God bless America. God bless Israel. God bless mankind!’
