Flying soon? Let this $55 Bluetooth adapter make streaming easy

I spend a lot of time on airplanes and have made hundreds of flights over the past eight years. And even though I sometimes have to work on my laptop during flights, my preference is to relax, stretch out and watch movies or TV shows using the inflight entertainment system.

The headphones that airlines give you for longer flights leave a lot to be desired. I used to travel with wired Apple headphones to solve this problem, but they too were cumbersome because I had to awkwardly unplug and plug them back in when the person next to me needed to go to the bathroom. I started looking for a solution online and finally came across the solution AirFly Pro Bluetooth adapter.

This pocket-sized dongle is so good that I rarely work flights anymore and spend that time comfortably watching my favorite movies and shows, and CNET’s formal review of the product gave it a healthy 8.5 out of 10.

How it works

The AirFly Bluetooth Adapter is an audio transmitter and receiver that works with Apple, Bose and other wireless headphones. Simply connect the device’s 3.5mm jack to the headphone port of the entertainment center of a plane, bus or train and a Bluetooth connection will be established. In addition, you can connect up to two headphones per adapter. I personally combine the AirFly with mine AirPods Pro so I can use the background noise cancellation feature.

Watching entertainment with quality audio makes such a big difference, and there’s no need to unplug when I’m sitting aisle and someone else in my row has to pass me. The AirFly Bluetooth adapter fits easily in your pocket, backpack or laptop bag and comes with a small case. Because it is lightweight, it will not fall out of the headphone jack if left to dangle.

Dangle, dongle: The AirFly Bluetooth adapter is light enough to hang freely from a headphone port without being disconnected.

How to pair the AirFly Bluetooth adapter

The reason I turn off Bluetooth on my phone is so that my headphones don’t automatically try to connect to my phone when I take them out while I’m watching a show.

The use of wireless headphones with entertainment on flights has made traveling more comfortable. I can travel with this lightweight, small device that allows me to watch entertainment wirelessly, and the sound is crystal clear. I have enjoyed using the AirFly Bluetooth adapter and will continue to do so for years to come. Consider this device if you want to enjoy better in-flight entertainment on future trips.

Small enough to fit in your pocket, yet convenient enough that you can actually enjoy the onboard entertainment the next time you travel. The Airfly Bluetooth adapter creates a pairing point through the 3.5mm headphone jack of any entertainment system. Simply plug in the device, pair it with your headphones and enjoy wireless listening.
