  • But she left to move to Dubai because she couldn’t bear to live there

Port Adelaide star Ivan Soldo, who was left by the game’s ‘hottest WAG’, has requested a transfer after his girlfriend left him because she couldn’t cope with life in South Australia.

Chelsea Beciveric gave up her glamorous Melbourne lifestyle to follow her then boyfriend Soldo to the City of Churches in November last year, when Soldo was swapped from Richmond to Port Adelaide.

However, she proved that the novelty of living in ‘Radelaide’ had worn off, as six months later she announced via Instagram that she was moving to Dubai to start a new life and work for an airline.

In response to questions from her followers, the 23-year-old said she “always wanted to work for Emirates, live in Dubai and travel the world. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”

Asked if she brought anyone with her, Becirevic replied: ‘I’m doing this by myself. I’ve never gone anywhere by myself before, so it’s good to have some independence.

‘I’ve always wanted to move abroad, so I think this will be an exciting new chapter for me.’

While she stressed that she and Soldo have no issues, she did reveal: ‘He had to move to Adelaide for his career and to be honest that’s been a struggle for me.

‘It [living in Adelaide] “It’s just not forever for me,” she added, followed by a black heart emoji.

‘It’s fine for the time being. But long-term in Australia I think Melbourne or Gold Coast would be a good fit for me… maybe even Sydney.’

According to the AFL official websiteSoldo is looking for a way out of Port Adelaide and has asked the club for a transfer.

Melbourne side St Kilda are reportedly interested in the ruckman, who has made just eight appearances for the Power this year.

Football journalist Callum Twomey posted on X: ‘Soldo isn’t used to life in Adelaide and is keen to return to Melbourne after a year. The Saints could pair him with Rowan Marshall as a point of difference.’

When she announced her departure to Dubai, one follower asked how Soldo took the news.

Becirevic showed off her sense of humor by posting a photo of himself standing on the corner of an elevator with his hands at his sides, accompanied by the caption “surprisingly, he’s really okay with it.”

She also wrote that they plan to continue their relationship “long distance for a while longer” and have him travel with her during the off-season, but she also admitted that they’ll find it difficult that he can’t visit her before Port’s campaign ends later this year.

Becirevic’s concerns about Adelaide were foretold when the biomedical sciences student announced her move in November last year, shortly after she made headlines with Soldo and established herself as one of Australia’s hottest WAGs when she attended Richmond’s Best and Fairest awards.

‘Honestly, [to be honest] “I can’t say I ever thought I would move to Adelaide,” she wrote.

‘I’ve never been to Adelaide before so I really have no idea what to expect… and I’ve heard so many mixed reviews.’
