Footballer, 15, collapses and dies during the game in Mexico after suspected heat maker – while research was started in tragedy

A study was reportedly started after a 15-year-old player collapsed and died during a football match in Mexico.

Atziri Ledif Galeana Valencia, 15, played on Saturday for Chivas LCZ against Toriz in the final of a girls’ tournament on Saturday.

Atziri reportedly collapsed in the 72nd minute of the game because of suspected heat stroke.

The game was reportedly played during a heat wave, with temperatures that achieved more than 34 degrees Celsius.

She received resuscitation and oxygen and cold compresses in an attempt to cool her, according to the need to know.

Atziri was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but died tragically.

The game and tournament were suspended after her collapse, with competitions that were then canceled on Sunday.

Michoacan’s public prosecutor has now started an investigation to determine whether the health and safety guidelines had been followed.

Chivas brought a glowing tribute to Atziri after her death, the club describing her as a ‘champion’.

“The Club Chivas LZC family goes through the worst time and says goodbye to you, dear Atziri Galeana,” read a Chivas statement.

‘You will always live in our hearts. You have left an indelible mark on the lives of your teammates, coaching staff, supporters and the club.

‘Until we meet again to play a nicer final, rest in peace, champion.

‘Four up there while you leave as a worthy champion. We will always wear this championship in our hearts for you, forever our warrior. ‘

League Deportiva de Guacamayas, who supervised the tournament, also offered a tribute to Atziri.
