Angel City star Savy King had Emergency Heart operation after her shocking collapse during an NWSL match last week
King, 20, fell down during the second half of Friday’s game between the Los Angeles -Outfit and the Utah Royals in the BMO Stadium in California.
The versatile defender received treatment while the rest of the players looked at, visibly shocked.
The first US Youth International was finally stretched after the game had stopped for 10 minutes.
Angel City announced that the Center-Back underwent the operation after doctors from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center LA determined that she had a heart defect
King’s family announced that she is currently recovering and her prognosis’ is excellent.
An explanation was: “On behalf of our whole family, together with Savy, we are so moved by the love and support of Angel City players, staff, fans and community, as well as football fans throughout the country.
“We are blessed to share that Savy is recovering well and we look forward to having her at our home soon.”
Some football Personalities doubted the decision to continue the game after the collapse of King.
US and Washington Spirit Ace Trinity Rodman wrote about her Instagram stories: “In No World, that game must be continued.”
Royals manager Jimmy Coenraets also believes that playing should not have resumed.
Angel City found the courage to continue and took a 2-0 win.
Goals of Christian Press and Alyssa Thompson sealed the big victory for the hosts.
