Taiwo Awoniyi van Nottingham Forest needed an emergency operation with a belly injury after he had taken a pole against Leicester.
The striker had a few minutes of treatment and even managed to continue with the pathogenic collision late in Sunday’s 2-2 premature.
And it was only on Monday that medical staff discovered the full size of his problem.
The Nigerian, 27, was then taken to the hospital for an operation.

But he added: “Everyone – coaching staff, players, supporters and including myself – we were frustrated about Taiwo’s injury and the crime of the medical staff about Taiwo’s ability to continue the game.
