Jenson Button Checks In To Our Travel Q&A

This week, former F1 champion Jenson Button checks in to our travel Q&A.

He reveals his best riding spots, his craziest road trip and more…

Where was your last trip?

Just got back from Napa to celebrate my wife’s birthday which was epic. We had great food and wine in the beautiful sunshine. It couldn’t have been better. Before that I was in London for the launch of my whiskey brand Coachbuilt.

What is your first travel memory?

Family holidays in Majorca. I used to love them.

Your most memorable trip?

That would be Rubens’ plane ride. I flew Brazilian driver Rubens Barrichello’s private plane back to the UK from Brazil when I won the World Championship.

Where is your best driving spot?

There are so many places I love to drive, but The Canyons, along the Pacific Coast Highway as you pass by Big Sur, are unbeatable.

What has been your craziest road trip?

Drive down to participate in the Baja 1000, an annual Mexican off-road motorsport race. The border crossings are fantastic to drive through, if not a little scary.

Ever had a packaging disaster?

Yes, when I won the Monaco Grand Prix in 2009 and I didn’t have a tuxedo for the winners dinner at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. So I scrambled around and tried to borrow parts from different people, because no one was my size in everything.

Favorite hotel?

The Montage Hotel in Cabo, Mexico, just a two and a half hour drive from where I live in Los Angeles.
