Four teenagers arrested for killing a boy for harassing a friend’s sister in northwest Delhi | India News – Times of India
According to the suspect, two boys – Jitender and Nitish – were harassing a friend’s sister “every day” so they decided to teach them a lesson. A fight broke out between them on Friday, leaving one of them with serious head injuries, police said.
Mahender (18) and three others defeated Jitender and Nitish and fled from the spot. Nitish was admitted to Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital by his mother, where he was declared brought dead, they said.
Based on the statement of Nitish’s mother, a case of murder was registered at Subhash Place and an investigation was initiated, said Abhishek Dhania, deputy commissioner of police (northwest).
Police have started examining footage from CCTV cameras installed around the incident site. They also started technical surveillance, informants were brought in and human intelligence was also collected from locally deployable sources, he said.
A trap was then laid and after a brief chase, Mahender and the three youths from Shakurpur were nabbed, the DCP said.
After lengthy interrogation, they confessed their involvement in the murder and revealed that Jitender wanted to befriend a girl from Shakurpur and that he was harassing her every day, another officer said. The girl was the sister of a friend of the suspect.
On November 8, the four suspects threatened Jitender with dire consequences if he continued to approach the girl. “Following this, a fight broke out between them and Nitish suffered serious injuries on his head due to which he died,” he said.
The officer said further efforts are being made to see if they are involved in any other case.
